Corn

Here is Grace emptying a packet of corn into a bucket.

Here are the bags that the packets of corn are in.

We've filled up this barrel so far and probably have enough corn to fill another barrel (at least).

We have a friend who works for a corn breeding company. At the end of every season they have a bunch of corn that they no longer need. He asked us if we wanted it and we thought it would be a fun project. We will use it for our chickens. You can see from the pictures that the corn is in individual packets and we are emptying them into a large bin. Each packet represents an ear of corn. We will have to grind it slightly for the chickens to be able to eat it. It has been something that we all have been able to participate in - even Gabe enjoys emptying the packets.
